The story
Most habit trackers give you a checkmark. Habiroot gives you a garden. Every habit you build is a plant that grows as your streak grows, from a seedling at the start to a full tree at 50 days. Every habit you’re trying to quit starts as a rotten plant that slowly comes back to life with each clean day. All of them live together on an isometric garden island that grows as you add habits, so a glance tells you how your week is really going.
Habiroot began life as Roots – Streak Tracker, an iPhone app built by an independent developer. Version 2.0 is a ground-up rebuild in React Native that ships on the same App Store listing, keeping existing users’ accounts, streaks, Home Screen widgets and Live Activities intact, and it opens the door to an Android release. With it comes a new name, a focus timer that grows a pot plant, habit chains, Apple Watch support and a Plant Shop of 27 species bought with coins earned from streaks, focus sessions and daily visits.
Story angles
- Consumer: the habit tracker that turns streaks into a garden.
- Android: an indie iOS habit app on its way to Google Play.
- Developers: rewriting a SwiftUI app in React Native on the same App Store listing, while keeping widgets, the App Group and Live Activities working for existing users.

Screenshots and a short preview video of version 2.0 are on their way. Email tazigrigolia@gmail.com and we’ll send them, and can usually arrange early access if you’d like to try the app before release.
Brand basics
- Write the name as Habiroot: one word, capital H.
- Before version 2.0 the app was called Roots – Streak Tracker.
- The plants are the stars: every species is drawn in one cute cartoon style (bold dark-brown outlines, flat colours, one cel-shade tone).
- Headings use Fraunces; body text uses Nunito. Both are free under the SIL Open Font License.
